Texas police confirmed multiple fatalities and the death of the gunman.
Saturday afternoon, Texas officials responded to a shooting at Allen Premium Outlets in which multiple individuals were killed.
The Collin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Fox News the presence of Allen Police Department officers. There were multiple fatalities, but the precise number is unknown.
During a press conference on Saturday evening, police superintendent Brian Harvey stated that a nearby officer was on an unrelated call when gunfire erupted at Allen Premium Outlets at 3:36 p.m.
Harvey stated that nine individuals were transported to local hospitals, but the number of fatalities is unknown. WFAA-TV reported that among the victims were minors, but Fox News has not independently confirmed this.
On Saturday morning, the ATF Dallas Field Division announced on Twitter that it was responding to an active gunfire situation. FBI agents were also present.
Operations administrator Joshua W. Barnwell reported to FOX 4 Dallas that he heard at least 30 gunfire and observed approximately 60 rounds of ammunition on the ground.
The officer “engaged the suspect and neutralised the threat,” according to the police. Fox News was informed by a law enforcement source that the alleged gunman has died.
A mother who was at the mall with her daughter reported hearing popping sounds and seeing flying flames.
Elaine Penicaro told FOX 4: “We were standing in front of the Converse store when we heard all this popping.” Sparks were flying as if they were directly in front of us after “pop, pop, pop, pop, pop,” followed by “pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop”
In a tweet, the Allen Police Department urged everyone to avoid the area.
“Authorities are present at Allen Premium Outlets. “An investigation is currently underway,” the statement stated. Please stay away from the area until further notice.
Fox News Digital has sought out to the Allen Police Department but has not yet received a response.
