After a Republican-led law prohibiting transgender athletes from participating in female sports passed in the House, Democrats on Capitol Hill dismissed the issue of biological boys playing ladies’ sports as unimportant.
Sen. Tim Kaine told Fox News that during his two weeks of tour around Virginia, “nobody asked me about this. This is not what people are thinking.”
He continued, “Some media are paying a lot of attention to this subject. Virginians are not concerned about it.
Biological males who identify as girls would not be allowed to participate in female sports at schools that receive Title IX funds, according to the Protection of Women and Girls Sports Act, which was enacted last week along partisan lines. The advocates of the law contend that biological males have an unfair advantage and can keep girls off of teams and from succeeding.
The bill’s opponent, Rep. Eric Swalwell, claimed that it would “violate the privacy of our kids for something that is not even a thing.”
The California Democrat said, “You’re more likely to have your child play with a future NBA All-Star than have to deal with what Republicans are suggesting is happening.”
After the announcement of his reelection, Democrats dismiss concerns about BIden’s age, saying that he “seems to be doing fine.”
Susie Lee, a representative from Nevada, stated that she opposed the bill because she is in favour of “things that do more to encourage women to participate in sports, not less.”
The bill, according to Vermont Representative Becca Balint, is “incredibly insensitive” and “does not address real concerns of girls in sports.”
Rep. Glenn Ivey told Fox News, “I think we might be creating an issue that isn’t actually there. He stated it should be decided on a case-by-case basis whether transgender athletes can participate in girls’ sports.
Rep. Marc Veasey of Texas stated he abstained from the measure because it was “mean.”
He declared, “I think that all of this meanness, this nastiness, and this discrimination ought to cease. “Democrats and Republicans, I believe we need to finally reach a point where we are not discussing issues that are so divisive around things like gender and race.”
He stated, “Instead of always looking for that southern strategy edge for so many different things,” the two parties should “have debates over things like taxes and things like that we disagree on.” I believe it to be dreadful and detrimental to the nation.
New Jersey Representative Donald Norcross declined to comment on the matter. He stated on Fox News that his main priority is “making sure people have jobs.”
