Richard Kincannon stated that he has not ceased crying since Thursday, when he saw the sheets removed from the bodies of three brothers who had been fatally shot and left in the yard of their home in Monroe Township.
Milford’s Kincannon, 49, stated, “I can’t even describe how terrible it was.” At times, he struggled to contain his emotions as he recalled the aftermath of the previous day’s carnage.
Chad Doerman, 32, allegedly lined up his three sons, ages 3, 4, and 7, and shot them with a rifle, leaving many in Clermont County in shock. Prosecutors have described the killing as an execution-style murder.

Doerman’s children have been Kincannon’s neighbors for the past four years, he said, adding that he was house-sitting for his ex-wife at the time of the incident.
Although he was not intimate with the family, he frequently observed the three young boys playing outside. According to him, they enjoyed being outdoors and played baseball and drove go-karts.
Kincannon, standing mere feet from Doerman’s driveway, exclaimed, “They were such good kids.”
By the end of the day, the area was adorned with stuffed animals, toy vehicles, balloons, flowers, and three small crosses in memory of the three children.
The yard is still surrounded by yellow crime scene tape.

Thursday’s shooting was the second time in less than a year that a parent killed a child in New Richmond, a riverside community of just over 2,700 residents known primarily for its Fourth of July pyrotechnics.
Middle school student Ethan Cain, age 13, was slain along with his sister, father, and another relative in February. Only the young woman remained alive. According to the sheriff’s office, Theresa Cain, the mother of Ethan, shot her family before turning the pistol on herself.
“This is a tiny town. Robert Wooten, senior pastor at Connection Point Church in New Richmond, remarked, “Everyone feels everything.”
Friday evening, Wooten opened the church doors to anyone who desired to congregate there.
“Many of our people are suffering here.”
Residents say they do not feel less secure in their community, but some have compared the two shootings to two bolts of lightning.

Prosecutors stated in court on Friday morning that Doerman confessed to planning the triple murder to police. There are three counts of aggravated homicide against him.
According to the prosecution, one of the boys attempted to escape into a field, but Doerman “hunted” him down, brought him back to the house, and murdered him.
