Authorities in California said that one person was killed and close to a dozen more were hurt after a 13-year-old driver of a stolen car led police on a chase before colliding with two other vehicles.
According to a press statement from the Woodland Police Department, an officer saw a car being driven recklessly on Saturday afternoon. About 15 miles northwest of Sacramento is where you’ll find Woodland.
A pursuit ensued when the officer made an effort to stop the car, according to Woodland police. Then the car struck two more vehicles, causing two of them to catch fire.
According to the press announcement, “almost a dozen” persons were hurt, and four ambulances were dispatched to the scene. On Saturday night, the severity of their wounds was still being determined.
The pursuit’s driver was later identified by police as a 13-year-old boy operating a stolen automobile.
According to the authorities, California Highway Patrol is currently looking into what caused the collision.
