International leaders, celebrities, religious leaders, representatives of charities, and local heroes all attended the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey.
Take a look at who attended and who was seated in the front row.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were among the members of the Royal Family present at the ceremony, several of whom were dressed in full regalia. Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who were also present, joined them in the front row of Westminster Abbey.
Catherine and Charlotte both wore Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headpieces made of silver thread, crystal, and silver bullion, along with gowns by Alexander McQueen.
As one of the King’s pages of honour, their oldest child Prince George accompanied his grandfather as he entered the abbey and assisted him with his robes.
Along with his cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, the Duke of Sussex attended. With their daughters Lilibet and Archie, who turns four today, his wife Meghan is continuing to reside at their California home.
First Lady Jill Biden was standing in for the US and was accompanied by her granddaughter Finnegan. They were both dressed in complimentary clothes in the Ukrainian flag’s colours of blue and yellow.
The singer Katy Perry, who will perform at the Coronation event on Sunday, was among their countrymen present at the service.
She was escorted to Westminster Abbey by British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful while donning a lilac skirt suit and a striking flying saucer-style headgear.
Later, she could be seen posing for a picture with The Last Leg host and Australian comedian Adam Hills.
Lionel Richie, who greeted London Mayor Sadiq Khan as attendees took their places in the Abbey, will also sing during the celebration.
Due to his connections to the Prince’s Trust organisation, which the King founded in 1976, Richie received an invitation. The presenters Ant and Dec attended in their capacity as the charity’s goodwill ambassadors for young people.
In the Abbey, they were seen taking a selfie. As she waited to enter the building, Dame Joanna Lumley, a close friend of the King and Queen Camilla, was also delighted to pose for a picture.
And fellow actress Dame Emma Thompson appeared to be enjoying the event; although, it’s possible that her face was brought on by the characteristically British weather (plenty of rain).
Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes, the children of Queen Camilla, brought their young ones to the service. Also present were the children’s father Andrew Parker Bowles, Camilla’s ex-husband.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were seated a few rows behind the Middleton family, which also included Catherine’s parents Carole and Michael and her siblings James and Pippa.
As Lord President of the Privy Council, Conservative MP Penny Mordaunt played a significant part in presenting the King with the jewelled sword of offering.
As part of an old tradition, the sword, which was manufactured for George IV’s coronation, was swapped for a bag of 100 freshly struck 50p coins featuring the King’s likeness.
Prior to the Coronation, Australian artist Nick Cave declared that he would go for “the stupefying spectacular, the awe inspiring.”
Joan Armatrading was among the other singers in attendance.
Former prime ministers included Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie were present, along with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty. Sir Tony Blair and his wife Cherie were overheard conversing with Sir John Major, whose wife Norma was not there.
For the first time, seven former British prime ministers who are still alive attended the event.
Other political guests included Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, who is photographed with Andrew Lloyd Webber, who wrote the King’s coronation anthem.
Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan are among the foreign royals in attendance. Their colourful attire brightened the otherwise dreary day.
King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, as well as King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, were seen visiting the monastery together while wearing matched pink attire.
The presence of foreign leaders includes French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte as well as Canadian President Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie.
