Records of payments of $10 million (£8 million), according to House Republicans, made to members of the Biden family by foreign organisations have been made public.
James Comer, chair of the oversight committee, claimed that the president was “involved” in Joe Biden’s relatives’ exploitation of the family name for financial gain.
These assertions are not supported by the study, and Mr. Biden is not implicated. It makes no claims of unlawful behaviour.
The story was labelled “baseless innuendo” by the White House.
When Republicans gained control of the US House of Representatives in the midterm elections last year, they vowed to vigorously probe Mr. Biden, his administration, and his family.
Mr. Comer has come under pressure from members of his own party to make the findings of the continuing investigation into the Biden family by the House Oversight Committee public.
He promised to look into “influence peddling” by Mr. Biden’s family in January.
The report released on Wednesday provides the most thorough account to date of the information claimed by House Republicans.
The nearly 30-page report went into depth about what lawmakers claim are different businesses and financial documents connected to Mr. Biden’s family members, including his son Hunter Biden and daughter-in-law Hallie Biden.
The dossier includes bank transaction documents that were obtained through subpoenas and which Republican legislators claim have connections to China and Romania.
“We think the president has been involved in this right from the start. We will undoubtedly keep looking, Mr. Comer told reporters on Wednesday.
There are no payments to Mr. Biden listed in the report.
The Republican lawmakers’ main contention that Mr. Biden’s family tried to gain financial advantage using the family name or that these commercial operations affected Mr. Biden is not explicitly supported by the report either.
Mr. Comer and his associates held off on making accusations of unlawful activities.
White House spokesperson Ian Sams told BBC that Congressman Comer “has a history of playing fast and loose with the facts and spreading baseless innuendo while refusing to conduct his so-called ‘investigations’ with legitimacy.”
In an effort to target the President and his family personally, he has withheld facts from the public in order to selectively leak and publicise his own hand-picked storylines, Mr. Sams continued.
Following the vigorous investigation and impeachment of Donald Trump twice by congressional Democrats, Republicans have threatened to aggressively look into Vice President Biden and his family.
In the midterm elections last year, they took back control of the US House of Representatives from the Democrats, giving them authority over committees and the power to look into and monitor the Biden administration.
Republicans have emphasised the financial dealings of Mr. Biden’s younger son, Hunter Biden, who is a foreign national.
Hunter Biden is under investigation by federal prosecutors for problems with his taxes and a firearms purchase. He has been the subject of an inquiry since 2018.
Hunter Biden has battled addiction in the open and come under fire for his private business practises.
According to the White House, his father was not involved in or benefited from his employment.
